Today there are plenty of online programs for nursing that will allow you to get the education that you need to make your dream of being a nurse a reality.
Certificate Programs
There are a handful of online programs that offer certificate programs that will allow you to begin searching for a nursing job within just a few weeks or months. These are going to be lower level nursing jobs, but will get you into the nursing setting much sooner than some other programs.
Associate Degree Programs
These online programs are a bit more intensive and may take as long as one to two years. You will be able to take most, if not all, of the courses online but it will not be at your own pace as you will need to complete the education in a timely manner in order to receive the degree. At the end of the program you will still need to take your state or regional nursing exams.
Bachelor of Science Online Programs
These programs are for those that already have their lower level nursing degrees and wish to further their education. Because one already has a lower level nursing degree, these programs range from several weeks to several months long, depending on the level of intensity which one is looking for in a nursing program.
Masters Degree Online Programs
There are also master’s degree online programs for you to choose from if you already have a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. These programs can be done partially online or fully online and may last several weeks to several months in duration. This is a degree that many nurses go back to get so they are able to get into more administrative and teaching nursing professions.
